Maria’s Kitchen and Grill’s story begins with a passionate journey rooted in family and culinary heritage. Maria, founder and owner of the establishment, is the eldest among four siblings. She balanced the demands of studying architecture at a university in the Philippines while being trained by her father, the late George Patrick, a skilled “kusinero” (chef), in the art of crafting delectable dishes.

This dual training extended beyond the kitchen, as Maria honed both her design skills and culinary prowess while creating memorable experiences for family and friends. The realization struck that these seemingly disparate worlds could harmoniously coexist.

The turning point emerged in the 1980s when her father, George Patrick, ventured into the culinary scene with the establishment of a “turo-turo” (point-point) lunch counter. This venture, serving students and professionals in the nearby school and business establishments, became a pivotal chapter. It was here that Maria’s siblings and herself acquired invaluable skills in food preparation, cooking, and the intricate workings of a culinary business—a legacy bestowed upon us by their father, George.
Today, Maria’s Kitchen and Grill proudly carries forward the rich legacy of Maria’s late father. Though he is no longer here, his heirloom recipes live on, ensuring that every dish at Maria’s Kitchen and Grill is imbued with the same passion and authenticity that defined his culinary artistry.
